Beni Ourain Moroccan Imported Rugs
Beni Ourain rugs are made of plush sheep wool. They originate from the Atlas Mountains from the Berber tribes. Introduced to the West by Frank Lloyd Wright and coined “the white giants”. Today these rugs are a staple item for many high-end designers. Beni Ourains are not dyed and therefore the colors do not bleed or run. The wool used to weave them is from natural wool based on the color of the sheep. This is the beauty of them. This also accounts for the fact that they are all ecru or natural in color with black accents or sometimes dark brown. “I have washed mine many times; I have one for 5 years now. Always the same.“ This is why they are so popular and collectable.
