Or, would it be better to hang the chandelier from the ceiling (not the beam) even if the chandelier would not be centered between two ceiling beams? Does that make sense? This is keeping me up at night!

Lightcrafters, Inc. I think it would not look so good to have the canopy overlap the beam. I would fabricate a canopy that fits the beam.
