When using wood on exterior houses for a great modern home look, how does it stand up to extreme direct sunlight in years to come? Are weathering signs noticable after 3-5yrs?
Thank You,

Sheila Schmitz I grew up in a wood-covered house and it looked great for decades. My dad re-stained the boards very infrequently. Some wood, such as cedar, actually looks better as it ages. You can ask your architect/builder about the longevity of this particular look.
Similarly, the horizontal wood application on this garage door gets the royal treatment with a wood trellis overhang. The shade provided by the trellis would allow the driveway to serve double duty as an outdoor social space.
