the glass enclosure allows too much light to reach the wine? - this is more of an observation / comment than a question so here goes:
as a wine professional I admire the looks of this display but question its design as a cellar for long term storage of wine.
Light is a major enemy to wine, and over time the amount of light entering that space will ultimately degrade the drinkability of the wines stored. »
nFORMAL design If this glass has a UV filter on it, it wouldn't matter. I, too, know quite a bit about wine and beer, both, and yes, light and oxidation are worse than heat/cold. But, if this DOES have UV filtered glass, then I think it is amazing.
Vin de Garde Wine Cellars Inc hi andy138 - we fabricate rods very similar to this product - have a look at our site http://vindegarde.ca/custom-cellar.php
is the wine storage temperature controlled? - what is the approximate cost of such a construction?
is the unit off the ktichen/family room or is it stand alone room
the look is fabulous and amazing, Kudos to the designer »
I'm not sure how temperature and humidity control work when the walls are glass - if it's more difficult than with traditionally insulated walls - but this glassed in closet looks fantastic.
This contemporary space also highlights the storage system — simple metals rods extend from the slatted wall — and shows off the bottles. There is no extra hardware. Note the nice lighting, artwork and great tasting area. The glass enclosure keeps the space open and airy feeling.
4. Choose stainless steel for a contemporary look. “Preventing airborne contaminants is definitely important,” says Cravotta. "The wine racks should be a material that won’t off-gas.” Stainless steel is a quality choice that gives wine cellars a contemporary aesthetic.

Interesting idea for cooled wine storage.
I SAW IT SOMEWHERE ELSE> LOOKS NICE BUT I THOUGHT WE WOULD LIKE A MORE WOWIE WINE STORAGE UPSTAIRS FOR ENTERTAINING.
