AllBackyardFun.com Looks like this a wood burning fire pit made of a brick or stone. My main reasoning is that it would be difficult to run a gas line through the sand. If you wanted a gas fire pit that could sit on a similar surface, a portable fire pit like this one could be an option.

I'm building a home on the beach in Manhattan Beach, Ca (west L.A. area) for a client that lives on the east coast. They spend lots of time in the BVI, in fact they are flying down tomorrow. They are asking for the pool privacy walls to look like the walls in your fabulous living room. Is there a name for these walls? I'm trying to determine what type of materials are used so I can try to buy them here. I assume the shells and stones are a veneer. Is there a local source for the smaller pieces? maybe i could have some of the native materials shipped.
