Where can I purchase the fireplace mantel/surround? - This fireplace surround is exactly what I am looking for, but in painted white. Can you tell me the brand, model name, or where I might possibly order? »
Palmerston Design Consultants The stain was custom mixed on site to match the woodwork in the original arts and crafts home. Sorry, I don't have the formula.
Palmerston Design Consultants The television is mounted on a bracket, the wires run behind the drywall inside a conduit tube. The PVR, DVD are in the wooden cabinet behind the chair and there is a "remote eye" to operate the units. The fireplace manufacturer will outline the height of combustible material above a unit - check with their specs.
like this a lot; like firplace without hearth, so TV not so high; like how darkness of wook broken up by white of wall around TV and marble around fireplace
what about bringing the fireplace forward a bit to make a space on the left for building something,..may not be as deep of a shelf as the right side but would 'read' as such possibly...

I like the contrast of the wood to the wall colour and marble surround. Very timeless and classic with a modern feel. The darker finish helps create the modern look.
maybe dark built-ins? unsure if it would make the wholespace too dark, what would happen to the painting above the fireplace, and still place a tv in one of the cabinets?
