The media wall is a focal point of the main family gathering space and is visible from many areas of this open plan house. An 18" deep bump-out was built to accommodate the television, speakers and wiring. This bump-out was then painted a contrasting color that makes it as a focal point. The hallway to the left of the media wall contains a closet where the necessary audio/visual equipment is housed. Keeping the equipment nearby and remotely controlled makes the media wall's design cleaner.
Integrate them into the design. While it's not always possible to do a media wall like this, integrating the speakers into the overall room design really helps.
Clear wood doors to playroom. This room is too modern! What I like about it is the pocket doors to separate the kids "family" room from the great room.
