Prince Segal Design Hi Pharmchic, The fixture was existing...we reused it. I'm not quite sure where the homeowner got it...she visited a lot of antique stores...Thank you for writing...
What brand is the tub? I can't find it anywhere and need to order one soon. - What brand is the tub? I can't find it anywhere and need to order one soon. »
marie_odile I am looking for a similar tub for my home in France. There is not enough room in the WC for a tub, so the plumbing for a tub is in my bedroom on a wall of pierres apparentes. (exposed rock). This is reminiscent of the old claw foot tubs with a modern twist which I love.
Ruth Barth Thank you. I really liked this tub in an alcove I saw at the top of the contest page I recently entered. Would love to bump the side out on our ensuite to add one like it. It would mean removing part of a brick wall out. It's on the ground floor, so I don't think that's dreaming too unrealistically. But then I always think what I see on HGTV is truly possible.:-)
S. Thomas Kutch Ruth, I'm looking at the same solution. We bought this post war 1950's house 5 years ago and what started as a "can we replace 4 windows with a french door and 2 side lite windows" has turned into a whole house remodel. We've been going back and forth about the single bathroom. I'm of the opinion we replace the tub with a large shower with two heads, body wash and steam unit. My wife keeps going back to a tub and a shower.......... I'm tired of the discussion. Solution is to extend the bathroom with a bump out of 4', build the shower where the tub is now and place a free standing tub in the new bump out.
We too will have to cut out a 7' section of the brick veneer, build a new stem wall foundation and frame out the new space.......but what the heck, that's what they invented masonry saws for isn't it?
Safety of Bathtub Style? - Can anyone comment on the safety of getting in and out of this type of tub as we age? We are in our early 60's and thinking of choosing this tub. »
