HI. Love this space..... - We are doing rustic hickory, open like this. Hickory stairs, I am planning on doing strips of carpet like this on treads....I have yet to figure out how we will install them. Wondering how you did so? If I want to replace them down the road, I'm afraid that glue down may make that difficult to then replace. »
The stairs are noticeably steeper in this view, but notice how the stairs down are next to the upper set of stairs, not below as in the first example. Another difference: The guardrails end at the ceiling, rather than extending past into the opening. The angled grid of the guardrails gives the stairs a unique presence.
The architectural lines of the rectangular windows, steps, cabinets and exposed beams are reinforced by the leaning staircase guardrails — albeit in a quirky, angled manner.
