Traditional Porches are 6-10' deep. Any more than that and the rooms tend to be too dark. Think of the porch as a kind of 'visor' over the windows; a bigger 'visor' screens more light. Also, when designing the depth, consider the position of the sun, furniture placement and circulation. Hope that helps. Eric
