I understand and appreciate the client relationship. I may assume that designing a home for a client based in Ohio may prove difficult for both parties. While I have your ear, may I ask, are there any particulars that you can assist us with, possibly to the style of the home, general size, layout? Along with my wife and our four children, we plan to build our dream home in 2 short years. By the look of this home, it would be too big for our budget anyhow, however we do seek this exact look and feel. The farm house setting, etc.

Not sure if there is a general sketch or possibly even a place you can direct us to that could help. My aging father is a retired chief engineer as well as retired founder of a commercial consultancy, AEC, llc, (Architects, Engineers & Consultants) so I grew up loving the smell of my dad's "blue prints" and can remember laying on his drafting table as he explained the intricacies of every schematic. I loved it! As a hobby, we have rehabed and flipped several homes in the good real estate market. I share that with hopes of you sharing anything you deem appropriate and I can run with it.

We have been addicted to HOUZZ for months now and for whatever reason, both my wife and I feel in love with it. It was "the one" for us. So again, thank you for at least your time.

Eric Stengel Architecture, llc Hi, thanks for the question. This home is HardiePlank... If i were doing it today, I'd use their "Artisan" product with a smooth surface...it's thicker and would have stronger shadow lines. The Barn in this compound is old growth cedar if you want to see the difference....that's my preference all things being equal...
As for the shades of white used...I don't know. The decorator picked them. I like Porter Antique Frost for trim and a shade or two lighter for the walls.... This subtle color shift helps to 'pick out' the trim.
