Garage door with windows - We have one large palladium window, two medium palladium windows, and one small palladium window on the front of our home.....our garage is on the front, too. What would be the best type garage door with windows to use? I like the carriage style...thank you. »
Anne DeCocco I grabbed this photo from David Phillips--it's not meant to depict your style, but shows how the garage windows follow the style of the rest of the windows. Doesn't have to be exact--as a matter of fact, it shouldn't be exact. Typing "garage doors" in the Houzz search box and then clicking on "Photos" will give you TONS of inspiration and direction!
Single panel up-and-over doors. As the name implies, up-and-over garage doors tilt outward, then lift up. When open, these doors align with the ceiling. While the swing-out feature requires extra space outside for clearance, the panel may provide a little awning above, as in this photo, which is a nice feature for those days when you want sun, but could use a little mitigation.
A garage door doesn't have to be hiding your car and boxes of junk. It can just as easily hide your living room. And it's a relatively easy and inexpensive way to create an open wall.

This garage door does not "roll up." It is like the old school ones that flip up, but offers a little more protection outside to the sky above - for the outdoor patio

"The door has been open for 3 years now with no maintenance issues."
HOW DO YOU KEEP THE BUGS, ETC. OUT?
Surely, dirt and grime settle on the furniture, etc?
How do you secure the home when you are away?
Where is it located?
Is the remainder of the residence subject to CHA?
