Gardner Mohr Architects LLC The flooring was random width and length. The widths ranged from 6"-10", and the lengths from 3'-12'. They were tongue-and groove along the sides, but the ends were butt (which caused us to have to face-nail -- less than ideal, but it looks wonderful and has been in service for about 6 years w/o problem. Regarding coats of poly, this is a subject of great discussion. Four for water-based poly is common, but it depends on the product and what you are trying to achieve. What color will go well with Valspur's "Mint Frost" 6001-3B? - I painted the majority of my cabinets "Mint Frost" and I feel like it's taking over the whole direction of the kitchen remodel. I was going for an Asian like theme. I have a 13ft. burl wood walnut slab as one of the countertops and charcoal color concrete countertops. What is another good color to tone down the Minty green?! »

This is a really nice kitchen i like the dark counter tops mixed with the lighter wall and floor colours and also having wood suport beams for style look nice
another layout of a kitchen plus lounge area. We could have couch face window, put armoire in front of window. Put medium size table and a few side tables in front for watching tv. Room for exerciser too? Room for kitchen armoire? Windows will have to be dressed with curtains/blinds/valance perhaps.
This is a custom table, and is approximately 3' wide by 8' long. When tucked under the island, it protrudes approximately 12", a great dimension. You can see it tucked away in this photo, if you look very closely:
