Gardner Mohr Architects LLC The island countertop and sliding cutting board are wenge. Fading is not an issue. For maintenance, it should be oiled regularly.

Gardner Mohr Architects LLC The upper part of the backsplash is back-painted glass. The lower part is Absolute Black granite, to match the countertops. The effect of the back-painted glass is dramatized by the undercabinet and range hood lighting.

I like the faucet here - and the idea of a cutting board that fits over the sink...I do need to have dual sink/garbage disposal. I like the look of the sinks that are flush with the countertop rather than sitting on them with a lip - not sure which is better though?
