Lilian Chong Can I ask if the ceiling is concrete and then added the wood beams for beauty or is it only made of wood? I am building my home and I am using Merbau wood beams one foot at interval of one foot (the beams are 8 inches thick and 3 inches wide) across the ceiling as the support for the interlocking woods. This interlocking panels are only 1 inches thick and these will form the ceiling as well as the floor of the first floor. This is only for a section of the house 16 feet wide and 20 feet long. My concern would be the sagging of the wood beams as there are no concrete beams.
Gardner Mohr Architects LLC The ceiling is painted drywall. The structure of the house isn't concrete, its wood. The structure is considered light wood framing, not heavy timber framing as it sounds as if you are doing with post and beam and tongue & groove decking (all of which sounds quite extraordinary). Hope this helps!
Where can I buy that great sectional sofa? - The goose-neck floor lamps by the sofa are great too. Where can I get those? Thanks for sharing the photo. »
Gardner Mohr Architects LLC The sectional is by Dellarobbia, in the Sodeo series: http://www.dellarobbiausa.com/product.aspx?product_id=56. Unfortunately, I don't have information on the lamps. Thanks for the questions, glad you found the photo useful!
