One very inviting part of the space is this seating area; Howell brought in a careful mix of textures and materials. The bench is a heavy, solid piece of carved weathered sandstone from Karkula, which was brought in through the windows via a crane. A mix of soft rugs, vintage Poul Kjærholm chairs, a sofa from BDDW, a custom coffee table that includes a rack of vintage bowling balls, and an woven chair from North Africa round out the space. One of the owners used to live in Africa, so the chair is a connection to a faraway place that was once home."The large photograph finishes the fourth side of the living room," says Howell. The woman in the picture is actually a digital creation by Diago Uchitel and was purchased at Ralph Pucci.
