Hello! Just wanting to know how to maintain an artificial lake. »
orlando comas, landscape architect. This is not an artificial lake. It is a natural lake. The Owner has a company that provides a regular aquatic management program includes regularly scheduled treatments utilizing Environmental Protection Agency (E.PA.) approved aquatic herbicides and algaecides, the coloring of the water in the photo I believe was the result of some chemical (algaecide?) having been applied a couple of days before. Most of the time the color of the lake is the normal dark blue , blackish color.
They also place fish in coordination with a government agency. This is as much as I know since I am not really involved in the maintenance program.

Gorgeous pond and waterfall. Great for attracting wildlife, but can be lots of maintenance if not set up for low maintenaince, which means money up front versus money in maintenaince over time.
