Wooden counter around the sink - Hello,
I want to install a wooden countertop (claimed to be treated) but im worried about the water from the sink ruining the wood. Would keeping the level of the countertop higher than the sink help? »
Design By Lisa A wood countertop in a sink area may require a little more attention than a solid surface product, but they are certainly a viable option. In showing this product to a client I would always ask them to be realistic about how they use their kitchen, but if you are the type of person who doesn't let spills sit on their counters and doesn't mind if the countertops aquire a bit of a patina over time I think that a wood countertop is a god option for you. I used one in a bathroom in my own home and never had a problem with it - to me they are so beautiful that they are worth the extra care. I hope that helps. Lisa
Countertop material (under cabinets, not island) - Can you provide the material on the main countertop? If granite, would love to know the color. Thanks. »
Mirror - It's fantastic! I need a source for several large mirrors like this for our house we're building. Is this a custom designed mirror? If not, where's it made? »
Design By Lisa I wonder if you are referring to a mirror in another photo from this project. It is a large mirror with a beeded frame. If so that mirror is from Restoration Hardware. I hope that it helpful - sorry for the late response. Lisa
What are the dimensions of this island? - I am in love with the walnut counter top, and essentially everything else in the space :) Thanks for sharing! »
Design By Lisa The overall dimensions of the island are approximately 9' x 4', but note that the space available for the bar stools is less than that because of the columns. As a rule of thumb you want to allow 24" for each bar stool. Just want to make sure that you allow enough room for those.
elllsworth11 The counter I am referring to that is made by Grothouse Lumber (not the one in the picture above) and it can be seen on this site if you search under: Clawson Architects. It is shown in a white kitchen and has a dark brown stain.
Interiors By Holly The Pendant lights are from Corbett. We purchased them through Filament Lighting. The trim color throughout the house is actually Sherwin Williams Dover White. It is similar to Creamy but lighter.
Robert Heilman, Arch. Designer for Airoom, LLC My guess is walnut plank in natural finish. I have walnut edge grain in natural and it's almost exactly same color. Fantastic look!
