This 6500 s.f. new home on one of the best blocks in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights, was designed for the needs of family with two work-from-home professionals. We focused on well-scaled rooms and excellent flow between spaces. We applied customized classical detailing and luxurious materials over a modern design approach of clean lines and state-of-the-art contemporary amenities. Materials include integral color stucco, custom mahogany windows, book-matched Calacatta marble, slate roofing and wrought-iron railings.

where is the orange blanket at the bottom of the bed from? »
Winder Gibson Architects All the colors in this house were custom tinted. We would typically start with a handful of Benjamin Moore colors, put up 2'x2' samples and review at several times of day to see the changing tone in the natural light. We would then proceed to combine two colors or select one and test mixes of that color at 200%, 150%, 75% and 50% pigment level. A great exercise if you have the time.
A mango coverlet folded at the end of the bed, paired with a coordinating side chair, pumps up what could have been a bland bedroom. More:Rhymes With OrangeOpposites Attract: Orange and Blue
