uttara and adwait ruth,
indoor 'gardens' ... largely depends on where you reside.
in india,
one either has to have an 'open to sky' (punctured ceiling) area, with a reasonably deep pit for the soil. the open to sky could be covered with a poly carb sheet, depending on the annual weather conditions. indoor plants like ficus benjamina, nuda or aglonemas would be recommended.
A designated space for a garden is a great addition to any home. This miniature courtyard is quite rich, but simple at the same time. A couple of trees stand alone with a few short plants in the bottom. Antique woodwork surrounds it, creating an eclectic feel.
