michellecaroline Hard for me to see details right now, but I think it's Anne Packard from Provincetown, Mass. Her paintings are amazing. For similarly spectacular seascape paintings you MUST check out Linda Donohue's work. She's here on Houzz, plus has Etsy shop and I'll try to attach a link here. http://www.houzz.com/pro/lindadonohueart/linda-donohue-fine-art
Union Studio, Architecture & Community Design the two furthest are structural posts wrapped with the finish wood. the cabinets and top were constrcuted around th estrucutre.
DSR Design Thanks for follow up. I am faced with similar condition for a project in my own home and would like to use a granite top without splices around the structural post. I guess one way is to add a temp post, hold new structural post short of ceiling, slide granit top with hole cut-out for said post and slide it over from the top. Then, add cross beam on top of this post. Then remove temp post. Does that sound about right?
Union Studio, Architecture & Community Design The living area does not have one, just a fireplace and comfortable seating. There is a separate TV room on this floor.
Did you do the ceiling trim out design? - I love it and would like to know if you think it would be to "heavy" for rooms that only have 8' ceilings. It appears that you have used "trim" pieces in lieu of "beams". I'd really appreciate your advice.
Thank you! »
