We tend to expect trims to be lighter and a backstage feature. Yet this slate trim adds dimension throughout this gray room, giving it a classy (and classic English) beauty.
I like to see a metal rolling cart used as an unconventional console table in a casual living room. The drawers and shelf space allow for unexpected display opportunities.
I don't know why, but this room looks very southern to me, in a good way. I love the cool colors, natural elements, and love love love the refurbished cart.

I'm adding this pic b/c of the creative thinking...to put a stainless steel peice of furniture in the living room is an superb idea and it looks great as well.
This is a terrific unusual use of the cart in the living room. It holds a mirror and knick knacks but is so much more interesting than an end table would be. It matches the table and light in the room so it blends nicely into the decor.
