David Neiman Architects In a perfect world, having the closet be 1"-2" deeper than the countertop makes the install of the cabinet & counter easy to do, but anything can work. In this case, we chose to make the counter depth ideal of a counter, the closet depth ideal for the closet, and the window as big as possible.
