This couple of married attorneys wanted a totally different look for their guest bath. They requested Japanese grass wallpaper, but due to the potential moisture problems associated with wall papers in bathrooms, we recommended a textured and striated painted on finish with a remarkably close resemblance to their original choice. The faux wallpaper is framed in teak as is the mirror. For tile, we used honed Black Absolute Granite, Jerusalem Gold Travertine and a Honey Onyx with pure Black Omni Herringbone mosaic on the front of the tub. The tub is the rectangular “Zen”by Neptune, the toilet a Toto, and the sink the wonderful Kohler “Demi-Lav Wading Pool”. The vanity is custom made to look like a distressed Chinese medicine storage box. Plumbing fixtures for the bath and sink are Grohe. Photos by Design Build 4U Chicago.
