en-suite bathroom
This small ensuite bathroom was streamlined by adding a semi recessed basin into a unit which was built to hide the existing radiator and provide storage.

Celia James The unit is made from MDF with an inset of pierced hardboard for the radiator cover. The counter surface is just that, a laminated counter top like you use for kitchen work tops. In this instance there is no metal but it is possible to buy pierced brass sheet which is more costly and gives a very traditional feel.

Celia James This basin is called a "semi-recessed basin" and that's because half of it is recessed into a countertop and duct. Therefore the countertop runs the length of the duct and behind the basin. The other side of this basin looks exactly the same as the side you can see in the photo!
