The Old Painted Cottage Hi bkdale, that's our fridge (circa 1970). I just covered it with beadboard to help hide the avocado green paint underneath. You can read more about the project I did, and how I did it here:

Rebekah Zaveloff It looks like 36" on the front space...and less on the back. 36" is minimum recommended clearance for between countertops. You will want more if you have stools at an island.

Like the simpleness of this space; small, but cozy. Island is great for 2, beadboard, glass cupboards, wood countertop. the stove is too close to the sink; I would move the sink over as I always work on the left of the sink , cutting and preparing everything to doing the dishes
