This may be one of the most beautiful bathroom remodels we’ve ever done. The client was a gem to work with. She had excellent taste which showed in the rest of her home; and, her master bathroom, in comparison, was a disaster. It is a huge space with 12 foot angled ceilings and was just covered in this outdated, dark green marble – not the client’s style at all. “Zen” is really the best way to describe our client’s style. Simple, clean, peaceful. And white! We can’t forget white. We actually couldn’t find a countertop material white enough to satisfy this particular client. Finally we went with an old (tried and true) kitchen standby, Corian. It was the only manufacturer that had a white enough countertop material. CaesarStone is our normal preference (in both kitchens and baths), but their whites just wouldn’t work. We used one of our favorite tile manufacturer – Ergon. Their Mikado in Bambu is stunning (we used it once before for an Architect’s bathroom). The large 12x24 inch tiles covered the floor, the tub face and deck and the shower stall up to the ceiling (all 12 feet). We had a custom floating double sink vanity built and used one of our favorite sinks: the Kohler Ladena. The rest of the plumbing was also from Kohler from the Stance collection: the twin faucets, the shower valve trim, and the deck-mount bath faucet with hand shower.
