Color suggestions for a Pacific NW Island Cabin? - We'd like an inexpensive facelift in our shared cabin, built in the '90's, in the San Juans. Two families, different tastes, built the home with most emphasis on the view (eg pretty basic, "blah" interior). We're thinking an accent wall. We have pale green slate floor in kitchen, industrial hunter green vinyl flooring in the entryway, and wall-to-wall carpeting in the rest of the house. »
Dale Perry Looks like you have transitional taste which is good for mixing styles it's to tone on tone and a punch of color would be good .Change the mirror out with a great piece of art work that would create a connector for your colors or a launching pad as we call it in the interior world and I would consider moving the chair it;s to large for the space. use a rug or your piece of art work to introduce a new color for the walls. Imagine your self waring a beautiful black dress and white shoes then you would ware a black and white hounds tooth hat or a hounds tooth scarf what happens the scarf or hat becomes the connector or launching pad then it all comes together as a whole. many times it's the missing link in a room. It can open up a whole world and it can be applied to every room. A single article is what we use to connects the dots in every space. Have fun . So pick a color of your favorite choice out of the rug or art work and you will be fine. Dale
