Dutch Inspired Kitchen Renovation

Morse Remodeling, Inc. and Custom Homes worked closely with our client to develop the fine details of this kitchen renovation and expansion. The client wished to incorporate a cottage style decor with Swiss influences. The exterior trim of the ranch style home portrayed a Dutch cottage decor. These elements were transposed into the interior architecture of the kitchen. The exposed trusses were designed with curved purlins to compliment the exterior decorative trim. Painted white custom cabinets with Shaker doors and drawers provided a decorative pop to the powder blue wall color. Paneled wainscot was added to the eating nook and provided a base to the new window wall. A dark, engineered wood floor provided a stunning contrast to the open and bright kitchen. The client wished to incorporate a late 18th century stove into the kitchen as a focal point. Morse applied an elevated counter and back panel to modify the stove and create a unique, free-standing island.
