Like most cottages built during this time, the house is relatively compact. 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths were built into the home's 2,300 square feet. The stonework on the exterior of the house is entirely original — the Freemans haven't changed the look of the house from the outside at all.
4. Neutral Orange and Traditional ArchitectureThose looking for a subtler shade of orange or to complement more traditional architecture may want to consider an orange similar to the one shown here. This shade is more tonal in that it has some taupe in it (white, black and brown), making it read as more of a neutral. If you took the bold orange hue in the previous example and added only white, it would turn a pastel orange. Lighter hues need the addition of black and/or brown to keep them from looking like a color better suited for a nursery.
This shows stone the color of ours with white trim and a neutral orange door. This shade of orange is more tonal in that it has some taupe in it (white, black and brown) making it more neutral.
A pumpkin color would work with the brown- not to "orange" as in Halloween. But I have to say I like the idea of going bold. Keep the shutters white. and just play up the door.

This is the look i want for the rocks on my house. This is also the wall inside the house around the landry room, i want it to look almost just like this but more glass in the door.
