Eutree Wide Plank Flooring I have a 60's nuclear ranch with the exact same floors. No stain just a clear water borne poly finish. I used a Satin finish product. Helps to cut down on scratch visibility too.

This could be the layout for our kitchen, without doing anything but adding a door to the summer room. Note stove between windows and door, sink in island, and fridge to the right. Island is 7' long, with dishwasher. Sink, and double pullout trash on other side ( just like Amy's).

I want the kitchen exactly like this, only flipped flopped so that the door is on the left side. I think the space behind the fridge should be used for laundry/ pantry. I think you should have the garage then laundry and then kitchen and access to the garage from the house through the laundry/ pantry room. I think the layout I sent shows that idea. I want the kitchen looking out into the living room, but not completely open. I want an extra large trimmed doorway/entryway separating the spaces.

The homeowner keeps her dishes on the wall near the microwave, and the dishwasher is on the side of the island closest to that wall (to the left, in the picture). So it's really only one motion to put dishes away albeit a little bit further than usual. The cabinets flanking the hood house cooking items and spices. Out of the picture there's a small butler's pantry, built-in hutch and wet bar so she has plenty of storage overall.
Due to space restrictions this island wasn't able to be long enough to add dish storage in the form of a dish drawer but if you have the space it's certainly something you can consider.
