It doesn't sit flush with the house but follows the angle created by the overlapping pieces of siding, therefore creating a gap between the middle of the trim and the siding. Would you be able to clarify if yours is installed flush to the house or not? Thanks! »

Simply Home Llc. Sorry for getting back to you so late. The trim over the front windows are installed before the siding.

soapguitar So is it possible to correct this issue without ripping off the siding? Maybe just trace out the trim piece, cut the siding, and reinstall the trim, with the appropriate flashing/caulking of course?
