mandiesh I think these pendants are from restoration hardware.com. I am doing a 6 ft island and using the benson pendants from restoration hardware. I am using the 13 in and doing 2. Good luck!

Brooks Custom @Mary -- Walnut and American Black Walnut are the same thing. We do offer other versions of Walnut like Argentine Walnut. This particular picture doesn't reflect the natural color of walnut, however. This is stained darker.

It's hard to speak for all "sealed wood countertops." We use a Marine Oil Finish with is unique to this shop. We guarantee stain and water proof for the lifetime of the kitchen. Obviously if you cut on it without a cutting board, it will leave marks, but depending on what style, it adds to the "charm". When we ship wood tops we always suggest the client use a cutting board and trivets for pans out of the oven.
