Leya Matalas welcome. it was my solution for an attic kitchen, whereby a one piece countertop was unable to make it in without removing a stained glass window. I wanted something different, seems to me all countertops are pretty predictable..River rock tied in to the water feeling in the glass. The only catch to using full size tiles, and there are many choices now and so many artsy inlay tiles you could feature- is the cutout for the sinks. I went with a lip stainless steel to hide the cut line. Its also dicey ($) to get the hole in the centre of a large tile, but I found someone who did it.
