I love the citron and purple in the basket and it looks like you are interested in an ethnic vibe. I've attached a couple pictures of rugs, I like to start with rugs. The first rug is from West Elm, the second is from www.rugstudio.com. There are only two colors in each rug so it doesn't feel too busy, but they have sort of an ethnic pattern. Also, if you like the bed in the picture you attached, that is an architectural salvage piece that acts as a sort of headboard. Maybe you can find something similar in turquoise or the color of your bookcase. For your bedding, I've attached some duvets from Serena and Lily that have a subtle ehtnic vibe in bright colors.
