happy decorating!:)
Love the lighting. - So easy on the eyes-- a nice contrast in a time when so much lighting is harsh and very straining (like the pot light in the corner :(. ).
Who makes it, who sells it and what is it made of? Thanks ;) »
Charmean Neithart Interiors, LLC. Hi pepperanne. You have very good taste. This is an antique amber alabaster fixture. i found this in a wonderful antique store called Susanne Hollis. When I found it, it was cracked right down the middle. I had it repaired and reinforced with the soft brass band you see around the top. It came out beautiful. It's vintage from the 30's. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for your interest. Charmean Neithart
Charmean Neithart Interiors, LLC. Hi there. The walls are wallpapered in a grasscloth, color sesame. Please let me know if you need further information. Thanks for your interest. Charmean Neithart
Love the bed! - Hi Charmean - can you tell what to call that style of bed in the picture? I've been looking for something similar. If you have any suggestions for where to find one, I'd love that, too! Thanks! »
Can you help with room colors? - Hi Charmean, I want different colors in my bedroom; the pink is starting to bother me. also my rug is too busy. I like my bookcase and artwork. Also, I have a basket from Ghana that I love! My walls are a light, subdued, green. What do you think about a new pillow, bedskirt, rug and roman shades? Thanks! »
Charmean Neithart Interiors, LLC. Hi Claire. Okay, why don't you use your basket that you love as color inspiration. I love the citron and purple in the basket and it looks like you are interested in an ethnic vibe. I've attached a couple pictures of rugs, I like to start with rugs. The first rug is from West Elm, the second is from www.rugstudio.com. There are only two colors in each rug so it doesn't feel too busy, but they have sort of an ethnic pattern. Also, if you like the bed in the picture you attached, that is an architectural salvage piece that acts as a sort of headboard. Maybe you can find something similar in turquoise or the color of your bookcase. For your bedding, I've attached some duvets from Serena and Lily that have a subtle ehtnic vibe in bright colors. I like the elephants. I think your art is great. Let me know what you think about what I've attached and then I'll take a look at window treatments. Hope that helps. Charmean Neithart
Emphasize the HorizontalIf you have a print you really love, combine it with other accents for interest. This combination of artwork, a horizontal architectural piece, beautifully textured wallpaper and a great light fixture makes for an eye-catching collection.
Use grass cloth. Don't limit the natural fibers to bedding and rugs; soft neutral grass cloth wall coverings add tropical texture. This room is giving off major "I'm well-traveled" vibes, with the plantation bed, the ornate caved piece over the headboard, the carved masks on the walls and the exotic bedding textiles.
