It creates an architectural quality and frames the island cabinets. In this case, the granite colour also transforms as it gets closer to the ground and picks up on the cabinetry colour, which was very desirable resulted in more coherence.
rbcola I agree. I think it was a good way to go. I was just curious if there were reasons to do so other than the design feature.....which of course is reason enough. Thank you so much for your quick reply.
