Paula Grace Designs, Inc. It is not a silly question at all. The ceiling isn'y cut out so to speak. The height inside the tray ceiling is the same height as the other ceilings on the first floor. The tray ceiling shape is created by adding a lower perimeter and molding. The molding does not touch the top of the tray ceiling and has a channel all around the perimeter such that a light rope may be added to exentuate the ceiling. They are really lovely detail!
celestas Thank you Paula! That is really a DIY if you know the right person. I am blessed enough that my husband is a contractor, very well must I say. He is a perfectionist and before I actually was able to read your answer he already was explaining to me. Now the problem sets like if you are married to a plumber it don't happen at home. Just like a contractor hates honey dues as well. but it doesn't stop you from setting goals in life and sweet talk your husband. LOL. Also thank you enfantterrible the lights as well is a really good idea. I would have never of thought about the lighting system. I am a huge fan of royal blue.
