Whitten Architects Hello and thank you for your question. The red cedar siding on this project was left un-stained and un-treated. Partly due to the projects proximity to the ocean, we expect the siding to turn a weathered gray color over time. Whitten Architects Yes, you are correct the roof is not painted. It is stainless steel with a zinc / tin alloy coating. This home is located in a harsh salty marine environment ... and the roof is meant to last upwards of 100 years. This durability comes with a premium cost.
