Contemporary Atrium

This atrium is illuminated almost entirely from below. The lower level of the atrium is balanced, but purposefully not symmetrical. The stairs are underlit with in-floor point source uplights while the opposite wall is grazed by a continuous in-floor strip detail.

note the fluorescent floor cove--we could do this for the stone wall but it is less dramatic than quartz lighting--but it is neat and affordable.
