Dan Nelson, Designs Northwest Architects The side walk leading into the house is inset with slate pavers. The path around the garden is inset with crushed gravel.

Our winters can be fairly mild with temperatures ranging from the low 30's to the mid 40's, however we do get an occasional heavy snow fall.

Dan Nelson, Designs Northwest Architects The the western red cedar board and batten siding is stained with Chelsea Gray semi transparent stain from Benjamin Moore. The roofing is a Medium Bronze standing seam metal panel.

A large part of the collaboration between architect and landscape architect was coordinating the indoor and outdoor spaces in terms of materials and sensibility — for example, this public-entry courtyard that guides guests indoors via a formal axial plan that connects the parking court to the house. I like the stone pillars, was thinking of putting 5 of them through out our fence one at the back of the house where the fence would start, then one at the end of the side run of the fence then maybe one in the middle across the longest part of the fence, then one more at the other side of the house where the fence would end.
