Steuart Padwick | Legs Crossed Desk

Design by Steuart Padwick, 2012.The Legs Crossed Desk offers a witty play on traditional leg arrangement, challenging the conventional construction of desks that have come before it. Featuring beautiful wood construction, the desk's slender, tapered legs are elegantly balanced in a crossed formation, supporting a substantial tabletop with side by side drawers on traditional wooden runners. Though the arrangement appears precariously perched, its intelligent design possesses unassuming strength and stability. Solid oak legs, veneered oak drawer fronts, and a veneered American black walnut top offer a two-tone composition finished in a beautiful satin lacquer that contributes further depth and dynamism to this charming piece.
