Carson Poetzl, Inc. We had prefabricated pieces welded together to create this. We used parts from the "King's Architectural Metals" catalogue to create this.
Once the vines are established, this outdoor shower will make for a uniquely private retreat. Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend this method of privacy for cooler climates since the growing season isn't very long, the general concept can be carried into other parts of the yard, such as fences or small privacy screens.
Another trellis system can be seen here, but in this case it's a fence, not an exterior wall. Privacy for the outdoor shower is aided by the vine covering the fence. The climate of the Southwestern U.S. guarantees year-round privacy, but those in northern climates should be aware that winter dormancy could open up the such a fence to prying eyes.
The outdoor shower is semiprivate thanks to a freestanding L-shaped screen that doubles as a trellis for climbing vines. The wire mesh panels are fabricated with industrial screening, available in a wide array of gauges. Metal posts hold the panels, and everything has been allowed to weather naturally. If water splashes from the showerhead, it's no big deal; the iron continues to weather to that gorgeous rust patina, and the vines get the moisture they need to flourish.
3. Give climbing vines a framework on which to grow. Over time, these climbers will ascend to a height that can obscure the view of any bins behind them.
Cover a ScreenSome rampant climbers have a bad reputation, but used carefully and kept under control, they can be of great use as screening plants on suitable structures. The most rampant of these climbers in temperate climates is Russian Vine (Fallopia baldschuanica), but even this can be treated almost as a topiary through constant trimming and shaping of its shoots. It also has beautiful racemes of pink-tinged white flowers held in abundance over the late summer.
we could have some interesting plants growing on wood lattice or wire screen... would want it to be private though... need changing area, place to hang towel.. lighting for outside?

iMobileHomes particularly likes this fencing idea for trellising vining plants like grapes, kiwi fruit, and raspberry bushes. It will also work well for trellising tomatoes and cucumbers.providing green privacy throughout the summer and fall.
