Love this wall unit. - I am designing a wall unit for my living room. My carpenter and I are trying to decide on the depth of the shelves. 12" would fit my storage needs and the size of the room....but I'm wondering if that would make the unit appear cheap or flimsy. So, I was wondering how deep your shelves are.....because they look great! Thanks.

Jane Ann Maxwell This is a woven wood shade by FUA. It does a great job of filtering the light and providing a decent amount of sun protection, but, the good news is that you may add blackout lining if you wish.
Would you happen to remember the approximate dimensions of just the section that contains the television, i.e., the entire center section height, width, and depth? I have an oddly shaped space adjoining my fireplace that looks to be about the same size. Thank you. »
Jane Ann Maxwell Sorry for the delay in my response, I have been offline for vacation. Please email me directly at janeann@maxwellhouseofdesign.com for further information.

Hi Jane-
Great inviting space !
How do you keep the painted wood built in from getting scratched up? Having a client challenge with some custom painted cabinetry
Thanks-

Design Dimensions SEVEN coats of paint? Really? I believe you, but it never occurred to me to apply that many coats of paint to anything! And why seven?
berger14 Just fyi for all of you doing wood flooring.... it is also wise to have 7 coats of the polyurethane or whatever the protective coat is called... especially if their are kids involved. :)
Question about the TV cabinet... - What is the black on the TV cabinet? I am designing something similar and trying to figure out what type of material to use so my remote control can access the components that are stored underneath in the cabinet. »
