Kuba Wastebasket

The Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo hand-weave strips of raffia cloth (woven fibers from the raffia-palm leaves) to drape around themselves at celebrations. Our African friend brought these beauties over from his country to share them with us. Inspired by these Kuba cloth patterns, this handmade iron wastebin is great for an office or bedroom. Its style is compact, fitting nicely under a desk or nightstand. The design is handpainted onto textured linen and adds a masculine touch to any room. Because it's handmade, each varies slightly in color and design.
