Seashell prints 1

This print is a restored illustration from "Encyclopaedia Londinensis, or, Universal Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and Literature" (London, 1810-1829).

In the era of Enlightenment, books of knowledge took on a new importance and nobility in the scope of book publishing. The 24 volumes of Encyclopaedia Londinensis, which exalt the pursuit of knowledge, were organized by printer, bookseller, and stationer John Wilkes, newspaper proprietor and co-head of the British Directory Office.

** You will receive this 8x10 print which will fit in a standard-size 8x10 frame or it will fit an 11x14 frame with a mat.
