do the rings face out or in on the roman shades? I put mine between the lining & the front fabric to hide. I my rings are facing the front. Before I finish up, is this correct? Will they drape properly or do I need to reverse? »
Casual Roman Valance - I am trying to make indise mount casual Roman valances for my daughter. Where can I find directions, please? When I try them the sides move in so they look more like a swag. HELP! Thank you so much! »
Coordinate shades with furniture. Usually, I try to avoid anything matching in a space. However, when done in the style of en suite design, it works quite well. En suite design is all about repeating a pattern or motif throughout a smaller or chopped up space to create a consistent, cohesive look.
Relaxed romans. The name says it all with relaxed roman shades, also known as soft or London shades: They are classy but casual unconstructed shades that gently bow when raised. Due to the lack of construction, relaxed romans work best with windows less than 54 inches wide. Wider shades should have two poufs.
2. Tie in fabric elsewhere in the room. The blue denim on the fronts of these dining chairs would have looked just fine with the overscale floral print on the Roman shades. But upholstering the backs of the chairs in that same print, edged with denim piping, puts a bow on the whole pretty package. Details always matter in design, and this space gets them right.

I love the blues and print in the roman shade. I am thinking about doing this in my piano room. My windows are wider and I have a desk that could use some fun chairs such as these.
