Same size 13x11? I want the island to be installed the other way - which size would you recommend? - I am just struggling whether an island is too much for that space - I would like to have one but also a nice clearance between fridge and sink/dishwasher from the other side? I also like the island to be parallel to the stove ( with its longest side ) - any ideas? thank you! »
The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn The general rule is you should have a minimum of 42" between countertops. If you've got a walkway like this kitchen, at the very minimum you will want 48" from countertop to countertop. It is difficult if not impossible to make any specific recommendations about your space without seeing a floor plan. A local kitchen designer will be your best bet. Good luck!
U shaped kitchen with separate pantry - I have a u shaped kitchen with the window on the right side of the room. The back wall, as you face the kitchen, is empty for now. The range and refrig are going on the left side of that room. We wanted to have the counter top go in the u shaped but wondered if it would look okay with a wooden pantry to go against the back wall. We would then put counter top to join the right and left side of it. »
The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn Hi Kathy. Without having exact measurements or photos it is very difficult to say. I would recommend contacting an experienced kitchen designer in your area to help you with your questions. Good luck!
The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn I don't have the specific wall color in my file, but you could try something like Benjamin Moore's "White Cloud" for a similar feel.
The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn Thanks very much. The tile was owner's material. It looks to be a 3x6 subway in an off-white. I'd try Sonoma Tile for starters.
channamerkur are the pot lights centered in the walk ways or are they closer to the counter? IF so how much closer are they to the counter than the island?
this kitchen looks like my layout, I am trying to find an appropriate area for a 6 burner cooktop with a decorative hood, I guess my question is should I take out my pantry and put the cooktop in its place? I will attach a photo »
wmmr2518 a six burner where the existing cooktop is would be too close to the window and I would loose the cabinet where I keep my glass ware. The pantry is behind the double white doors in the kitchen and is a nice size, but I would have to take out that door to the front of the house and relocate it, what do you think
This could either be seen as a broken U or an L-shaped kitchen with an island. Technically I'd say it leans towards the latter, but if you imagine that door on the left being cabinetry, you can use this layout for inspiration for your own U-shaped kitchen.
This is a good example of almost right. Something is off. Floors need to be darker or cabinets lighter (maybe a little of both) and granite needs to be light.
