Studio One-Off Architecture & Design Thank you for your interest. The porch is built into a slope, so the back is a concrete retaining wall about 4-1/2 ft. high, covered with horizontal mahogany slats. The size is about 13'-6" x 17' overall. The floor is natural bluestone pavers set on a concrete slab.
Studio One-Off Architecture & Design The material is called "Polygal". It is a polycarbonite material supplied in long sheets of various widths. It is not a solid sheet but is hollow and fluted in the long direction. Available in different thicknesses and configurations with different properties of light transmittance. Ours is designed to reflect a good deal of near-perpendicular (mid-day) sun, but admit almost all light with lower angle of incidence. A wonderful product !
screened in porch in Boston. Uses Polygal (polycarbonite) roof. reflects perpendicular sun but admits lower angle rays. Perhaps nicer wood rafters with roof suspended higher over them, so that the rafters can be appreciated w/o the roof smack on top of them..
