Great Hall with reclaimed flooring from an 1880’s barn in Osseo, Wisconsin. The Baker’s rack on the far wall is an antique from France that the owner has had for many years.

nancyernstes I am getting ready to paint or stain a ceiling for our new screened porch with beams and am considering polyuerathane with a cup of white paint. It looks like the wood behind these beams may be stained. Would love to avoid painting!

Inside, the vaulted ceiling and open plan make the "great hall" feel larger, while reclaimed materials make it feel older."The owner really has a great sense of interior design and style, and did all the interior decorating herself," says Murphy. Great Room: Very cozy & warm feeling. Ceiling is high yet not too high for energy efficiency. Ideally our great room ceiling height is around 15 feet high.
