Dennis Outdoor fireplace.
For someone looking for detailed plans to build an "outdoor fireplace", I will soon be setting up a web site.
I have recently completed building this fireplace in my backyard.
I am not a tradesperson, my workshop is my garage, and I used most of the materials available from Home Depot.
Before starting this project, I also looked on the internet for detailed plans and found none, only pictures.
So I set out to design a outdoor fireplace with the following criteria:
- unique design
- suitable for an urban environment with fire and smoke restrictions
- materials readily available from a big box lumber store
- firebox insert that can be used to burn wood, charcoal and even propane gas,
in other words, it is also a barbecue grill used for cooking
The planning involved was as much work as the building.
So, by me providing the plans with customer support, half your work is done.
Keep in mind that this is not by any means a weekend project, but in the end a rewarding one.
Even though it is early fall here in southern Ontario, my family and friends very much enjoyed our Thanksgiving day sitting around our warm fireplace.
If you are interested, please e-mail me.

Because of the work involved in drawing up the plans and details, I will be charging a small fee.
Your comments would be appreciated.
I will also have plans for the club chair and love seat (not pictured).
suerockers I was just at the Filament Store in St Louis Park, MN-they are displayed there-the builder is local and the glass blower is from North Minneapolis. They are beautiful! They can be made in a variety of tints and shapes and combined to make a chandelier or pendant grouping- SOO
LOVELY!
